Our busy beeeeee Saturday.....

WE had a BUSY Saturday....which included a Torii Beach Festival...my book club...and then we went over to MaryAllen's house for a fish fry.....and we had some tired kids at the end of the night...which was fine by me....they had a BUSY but FUN day!

This is how our day unfolded.....

We JETTED on over to Torii Beach on Torii Station...beautiful weather...not a cloud in the sky...a few poofy white clouds....the ones that you can easily cloud watch and point out all the fluffy white animals...etc...

Then we got to Torii Station...and mommy realized that she forgot the camera....so she JETS back home (hence the plane flying back) and grabs the camera...Thank goodness home ISN'T a 2 hour drive....




They had 2 fire trucks for kids to ride in...and this was so exciting because 2 weeks earlier...Sparky the dog came to Sophia's pre-school...and Kai's elementary school....the only thing we didn't have were the plastic fire hats for picture props...he he he....


The big red fire truck (or as Kent made a slip...Tire Fruck) was stinky inside...he he he...but purred like a kitten....the kids and I were giddy with grade school enthusiasm....

The fire "dude" driver let Kai push the button and the horn blared....you can see his happy face...and mine of course...b/c it startled me into laughter...he he he...Sophia looks confused and a bit startled herself...he he he

Here I am...looking cool ridin' in the BIG rojo goddess....and Sophia waving to daddy...and Kai still in awe of being in a Fire truck...and we got front row seats....;-)

After the EXCELLENT ride...Kent and the kids grabbed some lunch...and sat in the shade under a tree...and we had a great view of the beach and the festival....

They had bouncy houses...and different games for the kids to play...including water balloons....Daddy and the kids stayed on...while....

I JETTED to Bookclub...the book we read was, "Ender's Game"...and I usually don't read sci-fi...but this really was a neat book...there were parts that kept me turnin' the pages...it really kept my interest...over the years...I've read less and less...but hopefully I will begin to include it more...

Deep in discussion....

Megan...keeping us all mesmerized...by her thoughts about the book...excellent food...tons of it...and Lindsay the wonderful Hostess made a wonderful cider...which I want the recipe for ...so when we host our annual Gingerbread house making party...our guests can enjoy it as well!!

Say chees-u...these are the girls I do boot camp with...we all meet 3 days a week...at 4:45 to do heart pumping exercises...and we've been running and training for a 1/2 marathon in November...(Megan is missing...she is also doing the boot camp and 1/2...)

It seems like when you leave a place...and you are a female... it takes about 15 more minutes to say goodbye...last minute conversations....and this one looked juicy...he he he

Then we JETTED over to MaryAllen's house and enjoyed some fish on the grill...with Mary Ann's parents...her lil' sister and a friend

In conclusion...Kai..Sophia..sister Liz..and friend "A" tried to play with the cats...but the cats played more "hide" than "seek"....;-)....the Kai Kai and Soph had such a blast with the older kids... .it was sweet to watch!

Our weekends are always filled with friends or the beach...and we kinda like it that way....or shall we say...we kinda prefer it that way!

On Sunday I ran my 8 miler...while Kent and the kids went to church....then Kent went to ultimate Frisbee.....and I went to dinner with Liz....came home and wrapped up the evening chatting it up with Kent-o...getting to bed early..b/c boot camp comes early....4:45 am kinda early...
