Our busy weekend...and the holiday's are around the corner...and busy bee's we'll be! ;-)

I'm sitting here listening to Christmas music...I know I'm a dork...it was sparked by a fellow dork...I mean..blogger...*uh-hem* JoOoOolie......who busted out her Christmas music...and YES..it is addictive!
Just being chill...trying to get some bloggin' in...while thinking I'm coming down with a lil' bit of a cold...sore throat...annoying...annoying....and I had a EARLY morning...before the chickens I tell ya!
This weekend was a busy one...and I'll recap...so let's go mi familia y amigos..follow me and scroll on down...and take a walk with me through memory lane.....;-)

Christa, C-dawg, Bista....was having her Birthday celebration on Friday night...and I was so SUPER-DUPER-DUPER sad I could not partake in the festivities....b/c this wonderful gal is one of the Sweetest...loyal...sincere...genuine...funny...quacky...silly....strong in mind, body and spirit....an EXCEPTIONAL mother...who loves her hubby....*uh-hem* "The Japanese schoolgirl" (go to archive..and look up October....he he he...)
Someone who is a delight to be friends with...This is your SHOUT OUT...C-dawg...I'm sorry I couldn't celebrate with you...Lady!
Love ya, sister!
The reason I couldn't celebrate with my sister...was I'm in charge of our Church Baby shower's...and I had to be in adult mode and prepare....yes prepare...for all the goodies and crafts we were gonna do.....
I was SUPER SUPER SUPER busy last week...getting each and every crafty thing that would make my shower work!
Sorry for all the un-returned calls and un-returned emails....
You know how it goes!
;-)

Alysa and Danielle
both having girls...and the baby names are VERY cute!
Baby Audrey...and Baby Rowan!
I took some pic's of them as a gift...I LOVE pregnancy pic's!
And I had two craft's to do..instead of playing baby games...going against the grain...and going non-traditional!

One craft was I took die cuts of a rice-bowl and chopsticks....and I had everyone either write a favorite bible verse...or motherly advice....and glue it on a JUMBO Popsicle stick....and I had a lil' red pot full of rice and when everyone was done they went and put it in the corresponding pot to make a wonderful bouquet for each mom to cherish!

For the second craft...I got everyone to make two paintings ...they could chose from words that I had printed or if they wanted to be creative they could choose a word they wanted to paint....I wanted to make each mother a baby book...which I will laminate and bind...to give to each mama for a keepsake...to share with their lil' one the days to come!
This is something I really dig....I enjoy being crafty! ;-)
It really does make me happy!

Then...off to our house to relieve the babysitter...she is cute as a button! ;-)

Midori is such a WONDERFUL babysitter...it must tell you something when I have to peel off my kids from the babysitter....they NEVER want to let Midori leave...she takes time to draw with the kids...she takes time to be sweaty with the kids...and you know the funny thing about kids...is when you pay attention to them...and actually gaze in their eyes....you make such a big connection...and spreads love and care through the actions of the chillin's...
Thanks Midori...my mom would be so happy that we found you as a babysitter...
You are totally numero uno to our kids...and they are excited to see you again on Saturday...Sophia has already started to draw you pictures for you to take home..and one that she forgot to give you last time!
You da' bomb chica!

This is when I peeled off Sophia and she is pouting...
1. She didn't want to let Midori go lil' monkey
2. She didn't want Midori to leave
Lil' diva....
Kai loves taking pictures with Pretty girls!

So onward....we have Kent's softball game to go to......off we go...with the kiddo's eating half my lunch and drinking half my drink...we are out the door! (They actually had a good lunch...but hey..I'm a share-bear) ;-)

Tom and Daddy-san

Kent-o saying something sporty...looking FABULOUS! ;-)

Somebody said something funny....giggler

Swing batta' batta' batta'....SWING!

Sophia found a friend who goes to her pre-school.....both are curly girls!

What a climbing monkey....

Kai walks like his daddy...aka shaggy....he he he...I'm lovin' the fact that the kids get to be around all the sports that their daddy plays!! I hope they are athletes!! ;-)

Bro and sista!

Afterwards we went to eat some dinna'...and they wanted to run down the hill first...

A picture we took right before walking into dinner...
Beffie..this photo was inspired by you...you LOVE to take natural pic's...so I saw this and thought....God is showing us a glimpse of what is to come...like a present just beyond the clouds.......;-)
GOD is MARVEY!
He gives us so many natural gifts....BEAUTIFUL!

We entered Kai and Sophia in a 2 km race...and Kent was Kai's partner...and I was Sophia's partner....it was exciting and fun!
Kai said he was SUPER nervous.....;-)

Post race....Mama and her ducklin's

Kai's race number

Sophia's race number

On the race application...I had to estimate times for each child...Kent and I were just along for the ride...on Kai's certificate....you see 18:30 minutes...that is what I thought he would be able to run the 2Km...but he actually ran it in 13:35...with a difference of 4:55...and if you look at Sophia's certificate...you'll see the same formula....
We couldn't run with a watch or an i-pod...b/c of guesstimation of time...
Kent BEAMED about Kai's time....daddy was smilin' from ear to ear...he said Kai NEVER walked once...and he was using strategy...running by and swerving and darting in between people...and leading the way...Kent was just keeping up step by step..and watching his son run......run like a kid who's first race was everything...for an instant the race was all that mattered...and for an instant...Kent was enjoying being a kid himself....through the eyes of Kai...his boy.....can you picture Kent's heart swelling with pride.....with every step he pounded...
I ran with Sophia...I donned her up in a skirt...and topped her off with a bow...she was my girl who was gonna run in style...b/c we know her thighs didn't rub....;-)...so why not put her in a skirt...*ha*....she held my hand 75% of the way...I constantly told her if she wanted to walk...just say the word and I would walk with her...and she said "A" okay mama...you bet! So we started off...and we gallop....we shuffle...we walk....we gaze among all the runner's...and all the while I'm over-joyed on seeing my lil' girl run her first race...a 2km race....we run...we walk...we talk...we giggle...and all the way...I tell her how strong mommy thinks she is...and great she is doing....building her confidence.....telling her that girls can be just as fast as boys...that she is making mama so proud...being brave and running.....and her lil' cheeks are getting a lil' red...and I have to resist the urge to pick her up and nibble on them...her big brown eyes twinkling at me...wanting to catch up with brother and Daddy....we are on the lookout.....
We are nearing the arena...I tell her we will run around the track...all the way....and when we get to the last curve we will get a bit faster...and I tell her..very IMPORTANTLY....I say, "Bella....when I tell you to run fast.....you turn on your engines and run SUPER fast...but wait for me to tell you...!"....we keep our pace.....and we hit the curve..and I tell her..."okay a bit faster"...all the way holding my hand....we see brother...he comes to meet us....wanting to cheer his lil' sister on.......but sister keeping her rhythm and concentration.......then I say "Okay sister...SUPER fast!"....she lets go of my hand and charges toward the finish line...and as soon as we cross the finish...she starts jumping up and down and doing what is natural for "her"...she starts looking for her brother, Kai...who she has known all her life...looking for her biggest cheerleader...(minus me and Kent-0)....she finds him and they hug and it was SWEET....the times you just want to freeze.......you know....for always!
(Geez....I'm all choked up...even now!)

Our first family fun run...how exciting it is to see your children enjoy what...mama and daddy enjoy...I wouldn't of traded this for the world!
Thank you Kai and Sophia for giving me such joy...for your presence in my life...for all the giddy moments like this to come!
You both rock my world....in a good way!
Thanks for joining me through my weekend summary....
We have a rest of a busy week!
We are taking our Christmas pictures tomorrow with the Scherden's....and then going to din din!
Then on Wednesday...Kent and colleagues will be meeting and greeting a unit of Marines coming back from a TOUR in Afghanistan.....HooRah!
and Saturday...is date night...we have been invited to a annual "White Trash" party...hehehe...won't those pictures be interesting! ;-)
Have a GREAT rest of the week...peeps!
