Oh...what was on the menu...you ask!

I made homemade baked beans with garlic and bacon....and homemade potato salad (which I let Kai taste when it was warm...my bad...b/c he told me he prefered it warm and thought I was silly for putting it in the fridge to chill! *ha*)...with brats and dogs....

WE originally had a church group coming over...but soccer practice AND sick kiddo's got in the way of it happening...so the next best thing was to have an impromptu dinner with the Andrews....who merely live less than two miles down the road!

They obliged....lucky us!

A belated Birthday dinner...Kent style...;o)

Kent-o Bent-o.... bunny pie...gotta love this mellow guy! ;o)

Growing up in Panama...with bare feet and not a care in the world....he likes things simple....easy...and laid back...so when he decided not to have a party this year...and instead invest in a indoor bike trainer...I said, "Um...you know I want to throw you a birthday potty!" and he gently told me that he would rather go out to a quiet dinner with some friends and order the trainer...so I obliged..and I didn't even stamp my feet! he he he

So here is some pictures of dinner last night...FUN FUN FUN...

The weather was PERFECT-O!Sprinkle some good friends in the mix and Voila! a WONDERFUL night!

(we did miss the Scherdens/Yosts who are now in Germany...but we did include them in a group photo!)

Our dinner group....Christa was SO SWEET and scooped up our Kai and Sophia and took them to her house for a sleep over...and Kent and I were curfew-less....even though we were home by 11:00...and we woke up to a quiet house...which was WEIRD...
When Kent was heading to bed...he said, "It's weird not giving the kids their goodnight kiss"....we definitely missed their presence! Love the love bugs!

Open air...Hawaiian music playing..the weather was slightly cool with a light touch of a breeze...a few brew-skis for the peeps...(minus me....ginger ale was my sauce of the night...I was DD)

"What a night!"

You know when you get the right mix of people out on a wonderful night...with "almost" not a care in the world...if only for a night...forgetting deadlines...lists...crazy schedules...and you are in the moment...surrounded with just the right elements...your heart fills with gratitude for what you have and who you share them with...and everything is alright in the world...and you can't help but smile...and Thank GOD for the life he has bestowed you...

yeah...it was "that" kind of night!

As we settle in from a Crazy Sunday...with our kids snugly tucked away...me--watching Kent read....and listening to Foster toot while he is running in his sleep is......

Weekend Joy!

Mama has been doing good on cutting certain things out for Lent...

So I made a pedicure appointment for Friday night...just me, myself and I...;o)

A relaxing way to end the week...b/c these feet have been working for 3 solid weeks...and I really enjoy it...I think if I were to teach... 3rd grade or 4th grade is where I'd camp out!

They are silly and more independent than the lil' ones...and they are just my style!

We had a gathering at Christa and Adams house on Saturday night...b'c Adam is going to be deployed for 3 months...so they invited some peeps over for a BBQ! Some of us sat outside and it was such a BEAUTIFUL night...starry...HUGE moon...and perfect weather...
I was able to get at least one picture taken before my batteries died......the girls dressed up as princesses!

Kai and mama were being silly....this boy is a BRICK...he weighs a ton...and it was with effort and NOT ease for me to hold him...the process was HILARIOUS!

So what was the trick for us to all be giggling like hyenas....

Well daddy did something along the lines of pull my finger....

Silly daddy...got us all to giggle...such a BOY!

This is silly time...the time after dinner...before bed...where the giggles are overflowing...and we all are soaking it all in!

(I was in the background...making plans to have a small group over from church NEXT Sunday...we volunteered to lead a small group/devotional....should be FUN!)

Kai is a PROUD PAPA...of silkworms...he has been caring for these lil' boogers for days...he feeds them mulberry leaves...and he cleans out the box...and they are getting FLUFFY....I mean really FAT!! Kinda creeps me out...but I don't show it...he he he

They are the first things he checks on in the morning and the last thing he does before bed....

Sister is really into the lil' critters too!

This weeks happenings...;o)

Every month at Bechtel...a small group of teachers celebrate birthdays....and Kent is cool enough to be included in this tight knit group of Wonderful people!!

Most of these people are close friends... (who we have been friends from our 2001 arrival on island)...those were the days when I would roam the halls...at first just me being Kent's wife...then to toting Kai-baby in the Bjorn...and then haulin' Sophia LuLu in the sling...and now that I am substituting...I've managed to wiggle my way into this crew...

So today was Kent's birthday celebration...which usually takes place on a Friday 1/2 day...Mrs. Sherry fries up some good ol' fashioned fried chicken...we bring in the sides...and we sit and nosh...and chatter....what is GREAT about this..and which warms my heart is that we always stand in a circle grasping hands and we say a prayer (before we enjoy the yumminess)...and the power you feel in the room is Amazing!

Kento-s actually birthday is March 14th...and he will be a whopping 34 years young!

And he ages quite nicely if you ask me!

How about that EARTHQUAKE ?!?!

Oy !!CRAZINESS!! Oy

Crazy weekend....we got an earthquake that woke us up at 5:31 in the morning on Saturday ....Kent leaping up out of bed a lil' bit disorientated....checking on the kids...who were snoring...sound asleep....Foster barking downstairs....the house a shakin'....and the outside just a roarin'....and mama frozen waiting to hear pictures or things start falling so we could grab our babes and run out the door....but our house vibrated and shook.....a FREAKY and SURREAL.....and after it was over......the house silent....we crawl back in bed...and my eyes are WIDE awake...Kent hangs out with me for a bit...but...daddys been sick so he gradually drifts off...so I grab the lil' computer...hopped in bed and immediately started my RESEARCH ....and realized that earthquakes happen all the time....which is AMAZING to me!

When we do have small earthquakes...we usually don't feel them in our house...I don't know if it is where we are located or what...but it is RARE for us to feel one...and I'm usually the last to know....but some of our friends who live in high rise apartments....they feel them all the time....but this one was a DOOSEY!

And sadly the next day Chile has a HORRIFIC 'quake which was devastating....and they are still having aftershocks.... Prayers are being lifted up for them!

Yesterday we were issued a Tsunami warning...and several bases were evacuated....our house is positioned high enough...so we didn't have to leave.

Then the call came that we were in the clear....PHEW!

Days like these make you feel ALIVE and THANKFUL for the GRACE that GOD has given us... for another day to be the Loopy...Crazy...Silly... G' UNIT
